Made with crispy bacon, savory onion, and plenty of cheddar cheese, this easy homemade bread is perfect as a side dish, appetizer, or snack. Whether you’re serving it at a family dinner or taking it to a potluck, it’s always a favorite.

Why You’ll Love This Cheesy Bacon Onion Bread
We all agree.. the texture and taste of this bread is wonderful and it will go with just about any meal! We love it with spaghetti, but honestly, the flavor is so good, it’s great on its own. This bread is very moist and the texture is great. We love the bacon with it, it really adds to it, and we love to add some to the top of the loaf too. It’s easy to make and always a hit!
Variations (Add Jalapeños, Different Cheeses, etc.)
All recipes are versatile, especially this bread. You could easily add chopped jalapenos to give it a little spice. You would want to chop them fine and pat them dry. We love the cheddar cheese, but you can always switch that up. You can also use turkey bacon if that is what you prefer. We prefer to make this recipe with buttermilk; the fat content in the buttermilk works well.
