SIMPLE INGREDIENTS
There are many different variations of this recipe, but we feel macaroni, tomatoes, and bacon grease are all that is needed. If you can use canned tomatoes, you are in for an even bigger treat. Many people will add cheese and some of their favorite spices. Another misconception is adding ground beef, if you do that you are making goulash.
Some people will insist that you must add sugar to this dish and if that is the way you enjoy it.. then by all means.. go for it. We are not a fan of sugar in this dish, but many perfer it that way. Take a moment and go over the comments on this recipe, with over 150 many people have different versions.

⭐TIP
If you remember this dish being sweet, I would start with a teaspoon of white granulated sugar and see how it tastes, then proceed from there.
