Next month, Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra releases worldwide. Announced at Galaxy Unpacked, the latest high-end smartphone from the South Korean tech giant offers several novel upgrades. If you’re in the market for the Galaxy S25 Ultra, you’ll likely want to protect it by using a well-made phone case.

Like any other phone, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is susceptible to scratches, dings, and other cosmetic damage. A reliable phone case can provide an extra layer of security when using your device. 1 My case needs to have a drop-resistant design

Over the years, smartphones have become more resilient and durable. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, for instance, has a titanium chassis and features Corning’s Gorilla Armor 2 glass. While this is great for light scratches when setting the Galaxy S25 Ultra on a desk, there’s no guarantee it’ll protect your device from a drop.

I’m typically a pretty risk-averse user, so I try not to throw or drop my phone when I’m out or at the gym. However, I still like to have a drop-resistant case in the event that it happens. I’ve had some close calls with my smartphones in the past. Dropping them on concrete, ceramic, and other hard surfaces, I’m also humbled by my clumsiness. To counter this, I need to have a well-made drop-resistant case on my Galaxy S25 Ultra at all times.

As the years go by, I’ve become more aware of how much care is needed to protect the camera array on your smartphone. Granted, the Galaxy S25 Ultra lenses are pretty durable. However, beyond smudges, a scratch or indent on the lens can ruin your next perfect shot. So many cases these days offer a nice lip that surrounds the camera. This way, if your Galaxy S25 Ultra does drop on a flat surface, it won’t come into direct contact. However, that doesn’t account for uneven surfaces.

I’m typically mixed on whether I want a kickstand for my phone. For a smaller, more compact device like the iPhone 16 Pro, I never feel the need to use a kickstand.
